Does turning an ability off change my content?
No. You are only setting permissions — what AI is allowed to do. Your posts, pages, media and settings are never touched.
Does the plugin change the abilities themselves?
No. It only stores your overrides — the handful of settings that differ from an ability’s defaults. The original ability is never modified, so it’s always safe to reset.
What happens when I reset an override?
Your override is removed and the ability goes back to inheriting its original settings, exactly as before you changed anything.
What is the Ability Library?
A page that groups abilities into families so you can switch whole groups on or off at once. See The Ability Library.
Does it support WordPress Multisite?
The plugin has not been tested on Multisite installations, so it’s best used on a standard single site for now.
Does it send my data anywhere?
The plugin’s own code makes no external requests. Two admin-only actions can reach out only when you click them: the Add-ons page installs WordPress.org plugins through WordPress’s own installer, and the Consultations button opens a Calendly booking page in a new tab.
I can’t see the AcrossAI menu
Make sure the plugin is activated (Plugins screen) and that you’re signed in as an administrator. All of the plugin’s screens require the administrator role.
An ability I expected isn’t listed
Abilities are added by WordPress, your theme and your other plugins. If one is missing, check that the plugin or theme that provides it is installed and active, then reload the Abilities screen.
