The Ability Library

Switch whole families of abilities on or off from one place with the Ability Library.

·

The Library is the fast way to manage abilities in bulk. Instead of toggling abilities one by one, it groups them into families — Plugins, Comments, Media, Users, Cron, Blocks and more — so you can switch a whole family on or off at once.

How to get there

In the WordPress admin menu, click AcrossAI → Library.

Find your way around with tabs

Along the top is a row of tabs — All, Core, Blocks, Cache, Comments, Content Search, Cron, Database, File Manager, Media, Plugins, Themes, Users and so on. Click one to focus on a single family. The tab you’re on is remembered in the page address, so you can bookmark or share a link to a specific tab, and the browser back and forward buttons move between tabs as you’d expect.

Group cards: All vs Specific

Each family is shown as a card with a master on / off switch. Click the chevron to expand a card and see the abilities it contains. An enabled card offers two modes:

  • All — the master switch controls every ability in the family together. The abilities are listed as read-only labels so you can see what’s covered.
  • Specific — a checkbox appears next to each ability so you can turn individual ones on or off. This is how you selectively enable just the abilities you want from a family.

Switching a card from Specific back to All clears your individual ticks; switching to Specific again lets you re-choose.

Enable All / Disable All

The Enable All and Disable All buttons at the top right act on the current tab only. So you can open the Blocks tab and click Disable All to switch off everything blocks-related, while every other tab stays exactly as it was. On the All tab, they apply to every family at once — handy for a clean slate before launch, or a full roll-out after.

  • If everything on the tab is already in the target state, clicking does nothing — a safe no-op.
  • Your Specific-mode picks are preserved: Disable All followed later by Enable All brings each card back with the same abilities you had chosen. Nothing is lost.

Tip: Use the Library for broad strokes — “turn off everything to do with the database” — then fine-tune individual abilities on the Abilities screen. If the Library looks empty, no add-on ability families are registered yet; companion plugins add them.
